(Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets found themselves on the wrong end of an 88-83 decision to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday at the Pyramid.
Steve Francis finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Rockets, who lost for the first time in four games. Cuttino Mobley and Yao Ming each contributed 13 points.
Memphis rallied from a 75-67 deficit to go ahead 83-77 with 4:04 left to play. Gasol registered six during the flurry. Yao’s dunk less than a minute later got Houston within 83-81, but James Posey hit a three-pointer 25 seconds later from the left wing to push the Memphis edge to 86-81.
The Rockets got no closer than three points the rest of the way.
Houston returns to action on Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
