Orlando Magic Looking for Another Big Man

02.10.2008 - Updated on 02.10.2008

With the Lakers adding the 7-foot Gasol and the Phoenix Suns trading for the 7-foot-1, 325-pound Shaquille O’Neal, some Magic fans are understandably wondering if Orlando is in the market of adding some much-needed size.

The Magic have used converted small forward Rashard Lewis at power forward most of the season after Tony Battie was lost because of a shoulder injury. Playing Lewis at power forward has allowed the Magic to get him on the floor with Hedo Turkoglu, who has blossomed into an all-star caliber player.

General manager Otis Smith has said the Magic were willing to give up the interior defense and rebounding a natural power forward would provide because of the shooting Lewis and Turkoglu have given around center Dwight Howard. [Click here for more from Florida Today.]
