(Basketball News) - The Miami Heat lost to the Denver Nuggets, 88-80, on Sunday at the Pepsi Center.
Lamar Odom paced Miami with 26 points and eight assists. Eddie Jones and Caron Butler each chipped in 12 points for the Heat, who have dropped five of their last six games.
"We got behind early, just like we did in Sacramento and in Milwaukee," Miami head coach Stan Van Gundy said. "On the road, that happens to you quite a bit. It’s an NBA phenomenon. On the positive side, we haven’t died like we were early in the year."
Rafer Alston collected 11 points and six assists for Miami, which concluded a six-game road trip at 1-5.
Odom has scored in double digits in 15 straight games and is averaging 18 points per game over the last four contests.
The Heat are off until Tuesday when they host the Boston Celtics. Miami lost to the Celtics.
