Tusculum searching for new women’s coach 03.4.2005

"I wish to thank Suzanne for her service to our department and to Tusculum College," said Tusculum athletic director Ed Hoffmeyer. "She has worked very hard for the last five years to make our program better and in a lot of ways, it is. Unfortunately, in our business we are judged by wins and losses which often overshadow the work that is done behind the scenes to develop the character of the student-athlete. In our search for a new coach, we will be looking for someone who will continue to recruit a strong academic student as Coach McBride did. We wish Suzanne the best in her future endeavors."
In five seasons with the school, McBride compiled a 52-88 record, including a 19-51 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. Tusculum was 8-21 overall this past season with a dismal 2-12 record in conference play.
McBride was named the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 2002-03 after guiding the Pioneers to 15 wins and their first NCAA regional ranking since leaving the NAIA in 1997.
Hoffmeyer indicated a search for McBride’s replacement would begin immediately.
