St. Bonaventure, NY (Basketball News) - Marques Green poured in 25 points to lead the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to an 89-75 win over the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans in a non-conference battle from the Reilly Center.
Maurice Young added 17 points on a perfect shooting night, hitting 5-of-5 from the field, 3-of-3 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Patrick Lottin also netted 17 for St. Bonaventure (2-0), which shot 44.4 percent from the field.
Arkansas-Little Rock (0-2) was paced by Jamal Holden and Nick Zachery, who each tallied 19 points in the loss. Kimmo Muurinen contributed 11 points, while Holden led the Trojans on the glass with seven rebounds.
Little Rock jumped out to an 21-13 lead seven minutes into the contest, but St. Bonaventure answered with an 11-2 run to claim a 24-23 advantage just past the midpoint of the first half. As the teams headed into the break, the Bonnies maintained a 42-38 edge.
The Trojans tied the game early in the second half, but St. Bonaventure took control in the latter stages of the period and cruised to a 12-point win.
The Bonnies won despite being outshot from the field by Little Rock, which hit 54.3 percent of its shots. The Trojans also outrebounded St. Bonaventure 35-25, but had 24 turnovers to the Bonnies’ 14 giveaways.
