Riverdale, NY (Basketball News) - Peter Mulligan poured in 23 points, grabbed six boards and dished out five assists to lead the Manhattan Jaspers to an 85-62 victory over the Canisius Golden Griffins in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tilt.
C.J. Anderson added 19 points and collected 14 rebounds for Manhattan (14-12, 9-8 MAAC), while Jeff Xavier tallied 11 points. Arturo Dubois contributed 10 points in the victory.
Darnell Wilson scored 17 points and grabbed nine boards for Canisius (9-17, 7-10), while Kevin Downey posted 12 points. Jon Popofski netted 11 points, and Chuck Harris pulled down 10 boards in the losing cause.
The Jaspers used a 16-6 run early in the opening frame to take a 49-31 lead into the break.
Manhattan held the Griffins to a 37.9 percent shooting effort from the floor in the second stanza en route to the 23-point victory.
The Jaspers netted 7-of-20 shots from behind the arc, while Canisius connected on just 2-of-14 shots from long range.
