01.12.2005

Richmond, VA (Basketball News) - Bashir Mason drained a desperation half court shot as the buzzer sounded to lift the Drexel Dragons to a dramatic 66-64 win over the Virginia Commonwealth Rams in a Colonial Athletic Association bout at the Stuart C. Siegal Center.

Sean Brooks came off the bench to score a game-high 21 points for Drexel (6-6, 2-2 CAA). Brooks shot 6-of-10 from the field and cleared a team-best six rebounds. Hinds netted 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting and Dominick Mejia chipped in 11 points in a relief role for the Dragons. Mason finished with six points.

VCU (6-7, 2-2) received 18 points from Dixon in 20 minutes off the bench. Michael Doles added 10 points in the loss.
