NCAA Game Summary - Kansas State at Colorado

Boulder, CO (Basketball News) - Jeremiah Massey poured in 28 points and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds to lead the Kansas State Wildcats to an 84-82 win over the Colorado Buffaloes in a Big 12 Conference clash from the Coors Events Center.

Colorado had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation, but Marcus Hall missed a hurried layup attempt.

Lance Harris added 20 points for Kansas State (15-10, 5-9 Big 12), which won its second straight game. Fred Peete chipped in another 10 points in the victory, despite shooting just 3-of-11 from the field.

Colorado (13-13, 4-10) suffered its third consecutive loss despite getting a career-high 30 points from Richard Roby. Jayson Obazuaye and Andy Osborn netted 15 and 13 points, respectively, in the setback.

The Wildcats shot a red-hot 64.3 percent from the floor in the first half to earn a 39-29 lead heading into the break.

The Buffaloes were behind by as many as 16 points with five minutes remaining, but pulled to within two points twice inside the final 20 seconds. Glean Eddy’s dunk made it 84-82 with 9.1 seconds remaining, and Colorado was given one final chance when Harris missed two free throws for Kansas State.

The Buffaloes ran out of steam, however, as Hall’s layup barely hit the rim just before the buzzer sounded, sealing Colorado’s fate.
