Sacramento, CA (Basketball News) - Mike Bibby scored 25 points and Brad Miller added 20 points with nine rebounds, as Sacramento pounded Charlotte, 110-92, at ARCO Arena.
Bonzi Wells had 12 points with eight boards while Shareef Abdur-Rahim posted 10 points and nine rebounds for the Kings, who have won three straight games.
Kareem Rush scored 15 points and Primoz Brezec contributed 13 with 12 boards for the Bobcats, who have dropped two of their last three contests.
Sacramento led 30-25 after the first quarter, but blew the game open in the second period. Miller’s basket just over three minutes into the period capped a 10-4 surge to begin the quarter and made it 40-29.
The cushion grew to 48-23 on Francisco Garcia’s three-pointer moments later and Wells’ free throw with 1:02 remaining in the half extended the lead to 19 points. Sacramento eventually went into the locker room with a comfortable 59-46 edge.
Bibby keyed the first-half onslaught by scoring 16 points, while Rush netted 13 for Charlotte in the opening 24 minutes.
"My shot was going down," said Bibby. "The first shot I felt pretty good, so I was just trying to test to see if they were all going to go in. It was good to get a jump on them early."
In the third quarter, Peja Stojakovic’s three-pointer nearly seven minutes in widened the gap to 17 points and Bibby’s long-distance shot in the closing seconds gave the Kings a commanding 91-66 lead into the final period.
Sacramento was never threatened in the fourth quarter.
