Auburn Mills, MI (Basketball News) - Tayshaun Prince and Antonio McDyess scored 20 points apiece to lead the Detroit Pistons over Golden State, 92-88, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Richard Hamilton added 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Pistons, who snapped a three-game losing streak for their ninth win in 12 games.
Rasheed Wallace chipped in 13 points and made a jumper with 44 seconds remaining that gave Detroit the lead for good.
Baron Davis scored 21 points off the bench to lead the Warriors, who have lost 10 straight and 20 of their last 23 games at Detroit. Mike Dunleavy added 15 points in the loss and Troy Murphy scored 14.
Jason Richardson had 10 points on just 4-of-17 shooting for Golden State.
Davis, who scored more than 20 points for the first time since being acquired from New Orleans at the trade deadline, made a pair of clutch three-pointers for the Warriors down the stretch.
He cut a five-point Detroit lead to two with 4:24 remaining, and later tied the game at 88-88 with just 1:48 left.
But Wallace followed with a baseline jumper to give the Pistons a 90-88 edge, and they would never trail after that.
Richardson then missed a pair of free throws at the other end — the first in a series of Golden State miscues in the final 38 seconds. Richardson airballed a three-pointer on the next Warriors possession, and Mike Dunleavy had his three-point attempt blocked by a charging Ben Wallace after that.
Wallace finished with seven points, a game-high 16 rebounds and two blocks.
The Pistons never trailed in the first half and led by as many as 11 points when a Chauncey Billups three-pointer made it 39-28 midway through the second quarter. They carried a 44-42 edge into halftime behind McDyess’ 12 points.
Detroit then carried a 74-70 lead into the fourth quarter.
