"From the very beginning of last season we knew the team was going to have a tough time in Anderson," stated Trinity Sports and Entertainment Group, Inc. chief executive Demetrius Ford. "The ABA moved into the market with the Anderson Champions and somehow managed to even negotiate a deal to play in out own venue a month prior to the start of the CBA’s season.
"This created mass confusion as to which team was actually returning from the prior year and made it virtually impossible to secure corporate partnerships or to sell season tickets. The Anderson Champions quickly folded, leaving the Alley Cats alone in the city, but local support failed to improve. We sincerely thank the fans that did support the team the past two seasons in Anderson, but the business is simply not sustainable without a dramatic improvement at the gate and with corporate sponsors."
