=== Stampede will host 2006 All-Star game ===

Boise, ID (Basketball News) - The Continental Basketball Association announced on Thursday that the Idaho Stampede will host the 2006 CBA All- Star Classic at the Bank of America Centre.

"We expect the 2006 All-Star Classic to be nothing short of a first-class event," said CBA Commissioner Gary Hunter. "The Bank of America Centre is a tremendous venue to witness a sporting event, and combined with the hospitality in the Treasure Valley and the great support of Stampede fans, we are very excited about our league’s mid-season celebration being hosted by the Idaho Stampede."

The All-Star Classic, which will mark the first time that the Stampede has hosted a league event, will coincide with the CBA’s 60th Anniversary Season, marking the league as the oldest professional basketball league in the world.

"We are thrilled and very excited to host the All-Star Classic during the CBA’s 60th Anniversary Season," stated Stampede Managing Partner Bill Ilett. "Combined with us moving in to our new home in the Bank of America Centre, this will be a great showcase event for our organization and our community, and we will provide an NBA-type of experience that will make this a memorable event for our fans, as well as the league."

The All-Star Classic is a two-day event showcasing the league’s best in a Long Distance Shootout and Slam Dunk Contest on the first day, followed by the All- Star game on the second day.

Actual dates of the 2006 event won’t be announced until the 2005-06 season scheduled is released.
