Beard, Mystics down Mercury

Bernice Mosby finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Mystics, who won for just the second time in 11 games. Nakia Sanford donated 11 points and Monique Currie 10 for Washington, which shot 46.7 percent.

Diana Taurasi scored 25 points and Penny Taylor 23 for Phoenix, which had won three of its previous four games. Tangela Smith added 20 points, Kelly Mazzante 13 and Kelly Miller had 12 points and nine assists for the Mercury, who were outrebounded 49-31.
