=== Shock re-sign Swin Cash ===

Auburn Hills, MI (Basketball News) - The Detroit Shock announced Thursday that the club has re-signed All-Star forward Swin Cash to a three-year contract. As per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cash leads the team in scoring as she is averaging 16.4 points per game and is also grabbing 6.5 rebounds and handing out 4.2 assists per contest.

"Swin has proven herself to be a franchise player," Detroit head coach Bill Laimbeer said. "She has the rare combination of ability and heart that makes her a very special player in this league. With Cash signed long-term, the Shock will be a major competitor in the Eastern Conference for years to come."

Cash, who is a two-time WNBA All-Second Team member and was a 2003 All-Star, is the franchise’s all-time scoring (1,548 points) and assists (340 assists) leader.

In 2004, Cash became one of only five women to have won an NCAA Championship, a WNBA Championship and an Olympic Gold Medal, as she was on the United States team that won gold in Athens.

"I am excited to have re-signed with the Shock for the next three years. The organization’s support has been impeccable since they drafted me in 2002," Cash said.
