Combined with the $75,000 the school agreed to pay Chatman as an NCAA Tournament bonus, she will pocket a total of $160,000. Chatman’s attorney, Mary Olive Pierson, recently offered a settlement amount of about $170,000.
Chatman stepped down on March 7 because of improper conduct between her and one or more players.
Chatman had compiled a 90-14 record since taking over as head LSU’s head coach, and the Lady Tigers have twice reached the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament with her at the helm.
Also a player at LSU, Chatman has been with the organization for almost 18 years.
