Mia Johnson added nine points and Allyssa DeHaan chipped in with eight points and eight blocks for the Spartans (22-7, 13-3 Big Ten), who have won seven of their last eight games.
Emily Fox registered 15 points but shot just 5-of-16 from the field for Minnesota (15-14, 7-9), which has lost two of its last three games. Korinne Campbell pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds but the Golden Gophers were outrebounded 50-33.
Trailing 35-31, Michigan State went on a 10-0 run, started by a Lucas-Perry triple to take a six-point lead midway through the second half.
The Golden Gophers pulled to within one, 45-44, but a Johnson trey and eight straight free throws down the stretch iced it for the Spartans.
