Nevada’s Sessions staying in NBA draft

06.15.2007

Reno, NV (Basketball News) - Nevada junior guard Ramon Sessions announced Friday he will forgo his senior season and stay in this month’s NBA draft.

Sessions previously announced his intention to declare for the draft on April 19, but did not hire an agent to maintain his collegiate eligibility.

"After giving it a great deal of thought, I have decided to forgo my senior season," Sessions said. "I truly enjoyed my experience at the University of Nevada. Playing at Nevada has opened many doors for me, including this one, and it is now time for me to pursue my dream."

For the third consecutive season, Sessions ranked second in the WAC with 4.68 assists per game. He also ranked third on the team and 14th in the WAC in scoring at 12.3 points per game this past season.

"Ramon was a terrific player for us and is a great young man," Nevada coach Mark Fox said. "The NBA has been his dream, and we wish him the best of luck in pursuit of that dream."

In his three seasons at Nevada, Sessions helped the Wolf Pack to three WAC regular season championships and three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
