Ole Miss’ Ross retires

04.26.2007

Oxford, Miss. (Basketball News) - Mississippi women’s basketball coach Carol Ross has retired, and will be replaced by assistant coach Renee Ladner, the school announced Thursday.

Ross led the Rebels to a 25-11 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance, where the seventh-seeded Rebels made a run to the Elite Eight, where they fell to eventual champion Tennessee. Ross, the 2004 SEC co-coach of the year, was 78-50 in four seasons at Ole Miss, with a career mark of 325-171 in 16 seasons, the first 12 seasons spent in Florida. Ross is the winningest coach in Gators history.

Renee Ladner was an assistant for Ross at Florida before coming the Mississippi.
