Much like his music, Kanye West’s signature sneaker is heavily reliant on sampled elements, and this new image traces the origin of the features that combine to form the Nike Air Yeezy. Shoes cited as inspiration include the Ato Cow Hide Boot (forefoot strap and tongue), Bape Roadsta (toebox) and the Air Jordan III (toecap, outsole and visible air unit). I can also see a little of the Air Jordan V in the shape of the tongue, and the overall profile looks to be based on the LeBron III.
