An American-invented game hinged to science, skill and speed, basketball is played by two teams with five or (in rare circumstances) fewer players on each side. - Dribble low and fast until your defender crouches down.
- Straighten up and put your left hand on top of their head.
- With your right, dribble the ball behind your back to receive the ball in your right again.
- With your defender close, fake the ball over their head so that you are holding it behind their neck.
- Throw it straight up in the air and run a few paces to one side. The defender will follow you.
- Return to your original spot to retrieve the ball.
- Dribble the ball between your legs to your right hand.
- Cross the ball over to your left hand.
- With the ball on your left, straighten up as if to cross it back.
- Instead of dribbling the ball, simply drop it.
- Lean forward and catch the ball with your right hand.
- Pull it back to your right and continue from there.

- Dribble towards the basket, making sure that your defender stays close to you.
- When you reach the block, dribble the ball softly and catch it between your thigh and the back of your knee as you turn from the basket. Alternatively, catch the ball beneath your leg as is demonstrated in the video.
- Fake a shot with one hand. The defender should turn to look for the ball.
- Take the ball out from under your leg and continue as desired.
- Dribble through your legs from back to front, from your left hand to your right.
- Cuff the ball in your right hand and fake across your body in the motion of an underarm pass.
- Do not release the ball, but pull it back across your body to your right side.
- Without dribbling, swing it back to your left side.
- Move your left leg forward and dribble the ball behind it (and through your legs).
- Regain control of the ball with your right hand.
Gary Payton doesn't often end up looking a fool on the court, but Jason Williams sure clowned him with this crossover, faking the former defensive player of the year off his feet. As with many of the best crossovers, the basic motions themselves aren't particularly difficult to emulate here, the real challenge being that of convincing your man to bite on the up-fake.
- Dribble the ball through your legs to your right hand.
- In one smooth motion, throw the ball off the backboard and spin three hundred and sixty degrees counter-clockwise so that you are again square to the basket. This should cause your defender to turn around.
- Catch the ball in your left hand.
- With your right hand, dribble the ball fifteen inches in front of your left foot so that it bounces fairly close to your defender.
- As they lunge for it, reach across your body with your right hand and pull the ball back diagonally across your defender's body so that it bounces wide of your right side. This should leave them turned to their right while you slip easily past them on their left. Alternatively, you can dribble the ball between their legs (see the video for a demonstration).
