  1. Dribble the ball between your legs to your right hand.
 
  1. Cross the ball over to your left hand.
 
  1. With the ball on your left, straighten up as if to cross it back.
 
  1. Instead of dribbling the ball, simply drop it.
 
  1. Lean forward and catch the ball with your right hand.
 
  1. Pull it back to your right and continue from there.

Smooth and stylish, this move is yet another to have been made famous by Hot Sauce. One key detail to note is that, after the first dribble, your left hand will not be used throughout the entire trick.
 
  1. Dribble through your legs from back to front, from your left hand to your right.
 
  1. Cuff the ball in your right hand and fake across your body in the motion of an underarm pass.
 
  1. Do not release the ball, but pull it back across your body to your right side.
 
  1. Without dribbling, swing it back to your left side.
 
  1. Move your left leg forward and dribble the ball behind it (and through your legs).
 
  1. Regain control of the ball with your right hand.

Start with your right hand. Fake a fast start towards the right. At this point your defender believes you are driving to the basket with your right hand.

Block your start spinning clockwise at 180 degrees while bouncing the ball in your back from your right hand to your left hand.

The basket should be in your back when you catch the ball in your left hand.

As soon as your ball is in your right hand, continue spinning the remaining 180 degrees while bringing the ball back to your right hand between your legs.

As soon as the ball is in your right hand, fake another fast start towards the right and bring the ball back to the left hand by bouncing it behind your back.

This is a simple variation on the Shammgod.  It was performed by Tracy McGrady in the most recent All-Star game.
 
  1. With your right hand, dribble the ball fifteen inches in front of your left foot so that it bounces fairly close to your defender.
 
  1. As they lunge for it, reach across your body with your right hand and pull the ball back diagonally across your defender's body so that it bounces wide of your right side. This should leave them turned to their right while you slip easily past them on their left. Alternatively, you can dribble the ball between their legs (see the video for a demonstration).

The Tornado is a freestyle move that can easily be used as an efficient offensive move. When using this move, the defender will often get confused and think your are only passing the ball behind his head.

The strength of this move is the spin you perform after passing the ball above the defender's head. The spin leaves the defender behind you and leave you open for a drive to the basket.

Breakthrough

Although this probably isn’t a move you’d be advised to try on a concrete court, A.O. and others have pulled it off on more forgiving surfaces a number of times. For this move to be possible, your defender’s legs must be wide open.
 
  1. Dribble the ball low and fast in front of you while edging slowly towards your defender.
 
  1. As you draw within two feet or so, stop the ball dead on the floor in front of you.
 
  1. Bend down and kick it gently through your defender’s legs.
 
  1. Immediately following this, dive to the floor and slide through your defender’s legs after the ball.
 
  1. Regain control of the ball and continue as desired.

First given a name in the videogame NBA Street, this trick has the potential to really get the crowd jumping.
 
The video below shows the trick being performed at a slower speed so as to demonstrate more clearly the movements involved.  It is, in fact, easier to carry out when moving quickly.

 

  1. Dribble the ball between your legs to your right hand.
 
  1. Start to spin clockwise and, as you do, lower your backside to the ground, letting yourself down with your left arm.
 
  1. By the time you are turned completely from your defender, you should have your butt and the lower part of your back touching the floor.
 
  1. Using your momentum, roll over on the floor (with the ball still in your right) and onto your feet, helping yourself back up with your left arm if required.

Notes: The original version of this move was invented by Rory "Disaster" Grace, who finished the trick by knocking the ball between the defender's legs with his fist. This is what gave rise to the name "The Punch".
