Tip: The first movement is not the crossover. Watch the tape closely and you'll see that the player hesitates momentarily before taking control of the ball after putting it behind his back. This slight delay encourages the defender to reach for the ball, and it is at this point...

Tip: To make this move look smoother, set it up with a few side-to-side crossovers.

Tip: Before attempting this, fix your defender by dribbling without moving laterally for a few seconds. If they drop their arms, you'll be able to perform the move with ease.

Tip: Aim for a spot near the top of the backboard or the ball may fall low enough that your defender can reach it as it returns.

Tip: This move is easier to carry out when the defender is turned slightly so that their side faces you.

Tip: The timing of the tap is essential. Hit the ball too early and your defender will close their legs. Hit it too late, and they might steal it from you.
