Like I said, FSU is good, N.C. State is not

First off, did I not say that Florida State is worth watching? Ok, so they only beat Massachusetts, but Alexander Johnson and Al Thornton are not players you can simply ignore. 

 

The 6-10 Johnson has had four double-doubles in his last five games. Against UMass, Johnson put up 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. The dunk he had to give his team the lead and to start a Seminole scoring spree was “high quality.”

 

Thornton contributed 16 points in the game and has continued to prove his talent down low. Now if FSU can only transfer that energy to their conference games, things could become really interesting. They’re No. 48 in the AP polls, but I expect it to go up – quickly.

 

Second of all, N.C. State lost to Georgia Tech 71-68. Engin Atsur and Elian Evtimov each played nearly 38 minutes and Cedric Simmons only played 17 minutes. Granted, Simmons was in a bit of foul trouble, but it’s not like Herb Sendek has ever considered changing his starting lineup.

 

G-Tech took advantage of State’s not-so-productive point guard by having theirs score 22 points and dish out 6 assists, and forcing the Wolfpack to turn the ball over 19 times. Zam Frederick has scored a combined 41 points in his team’s last two games and showed that Atsur is of little threat to him.

 

So maybe I’ll be able to get something else right soon. Kind of feels good, you know?
