Duke’s Dockery out indefinitely

02.24.2005

Durham, NC (Basketball News) - Duke guard Sean Dockery will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Dockery hurt the knee during the Blue Devils’ 60-56 win over Georgia Tech on Wednesday and an MRI exam performed by Dr. Larry Higgins on Thursday showed the nature of the injury.

"We feel badly for Sean," said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. "He was having a great year for us and was an integral part of the success we’ve enjoyed so far. He’s one of our fighters."

Dockery has been a key figure this season for seventh-ranked Duke, which is currently 20-4 overall and 10-4 in ACC play. The junior played in each of his team’s first 24 contests, while starting in 19, and is averaging 6.5 points per game.

Duke will next play this Saturday when its visits Madison Square Garden to take on St. John’s.
