According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Gillespie was arrested last Friday on a misdemeanor stalking charge. The paper said he was released on $1,000 bail later that evening provided that he wears a tracking device and avoids the woman who filed a complaint.
"Coach Gillespie has been placed on paid administrative leave until such time that the pending criminal charges have been resolved," said FAMU athletic director Nelson Townsend in a release Wednesday morning.
Gillespie just completed his sixth season with the school and guided the Rattlers to a record of 21-14 with a MEAC championship last season. FAMU played the opening round game of the NCAA Tournament and dropped a 77-69 decision to Niagara.
