Erik Woods

Erik Woods takes basketball seriously, for the past two years he has been a west coast writer and analyst for top prep recruitment sites such as Rivals.com, Student Sports, and PrepStars respectively. Recently, he has started to contribute stories for SLAM Magazine, just two years ago he ran a AAU team/mentor program that offered SAT Prep and tutoring for a group of highly talented players to honor SLAM senior editor-at-large, Scoop Jackson. Erik attended Ventura College in late 80’s with the likes of former L.A. Laker, Cedric Ceballos, he went on to earn a degree from the University of Santa Barbara, California in 1995. For the past ten years, Erik has taught bilingual education in the cities of South Central L.A. and Oxnard California, he views his writing as an extension of his work in education. When he’s not reporting on cutting edge sports stories he can be found playing streetball, dancing at clubs, reading literary works, kayaking in the ocean, and generally having a good time.
