Ty Lawson Arrested for Alleged Physical Harassment.
Ty Lawson was arrested Saturday night for allegedly physically harming his girlfriend (mug shot inside).
HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: Lawson doesn't appear to be worried, but the last thing Denver needs is preseason drama.
The Denver Post's Ryan Parker reported that "Tywon Ty" Lawson was was charged with "physical harassment and criminal mischeif." Alan Gathright of the of ABC-7 News in Denver also reported Lawson's arrest was an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in Arapahoe County on Saturday, according to court records.
The physical harassment Lawson is accused of involves either striking or kicking as well as property damage. Both charges are misdemeanors, so the Denver Nuggets don't have to worry about actually losing their court general, but this can't be the signs of a promising year.
Lawson was also arrested in January of this year for traffic violations and was released on $1,000 bond. The details of this incident are not yet clear, but the precedent must be disturbing to Denver fans.
The performance of Lawson throughout his career has been surprising and consistently improving. As a rookie Lawson put up 14.8 PPG, 5.5 APG, and 1.3 SPG. Last season his numbers were even better as the quick point guard out of North Carolina went for 17.4 PPG, 7.2 APG, and 1.5 SPG. These are impressive numbers that recently resulted in Lawson receiving a 4-year $48 million dollar deal with Denver.
