Hokies’ Harris sidelined with foot injury
Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) – Virginia Tech guard Shawn Harris injured his
right foot during practice last week and is expected to be sidelined for 6-8
Harris suffered a medial tear to the plantar fascia of the foot on Wednesday,
November 5 and underwent an MRI exam two days later. He will continue
treatment and be re-evaluated during the process.
“I feel for Shawn, he’s worked so hard to get himself in shape and to be a
contributor on our basketball team,” head coach Seth Greenberg said. “It hurts
to see him work that hard and have a setback like this. But with his
character, toughness and work ethic, I’m sure that he’ll be back as soon as
possible and be ready to contribute.”
The sophomore guard played in all 29 games for Virginia Tech last season and
averaged 3.4 points and 1.3 rebounds per outing.
