Shaw done at St. John’s
New York, NY (Sports Network) – St. John’s senior guard Willie Shaw, who
was suspended indefinitely by the university in late November following an
arrest for possession of marijuana, was dismissed from the team on Tuesday.
Red Storm head coach Mike Jarvis indicated that Shaw was let go due to a
violation of team rules.
Shaw and his former St. John’s teammate, Marcus Hatten, were charged with
fifth-degree possession of marijuana.
The 6’6″ senior, who averaged 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games this
season, was suspended for four games two seasons ago for marijuana use.
