Hoops Holiday

After unwrapping all your gifts, chatting with the family, and stuffing yourself with various foods, I hope we all gave thanks for all the gifts we have received this Christmas season and all year. Here is a list of some NBA gifts that all fans have gotten this season.

— First off we’ll start at the beginning the Lebron, Carmelo, Wade, Kaman, Boch, Hinrich NBA Draft is starting to look like one of the best in a long time, if only Larry Brown gave Darko some minutes so we could see what he has.

–The Lakers, love em or hate em, and their 4 hall of famers (and hall of fame coach) are as close as we’ll get to the original Dream Team on an NBA floor.

–For all the up-start out of nowhere teams playing well (Denver, Memphis, Utah) giving all a chance to root for the underdog.


Hoops Holiday–The early play of some unexpected hoops heroes like Ronald Murray, Brad Miller, Ron Artest, and Earl Boykins.

–The health of Vince Carter, and Baron Davis it’s nice to get to watch them play again.

–Mark Cuban and the Maloof Bros. for turning around awful franchises and turning them into perennial contenders.

–For teams like Chicago, Orlando, Washington, and Atlanta, who the saying ” There’s always next year” seems true.

–Ben Wallace, Chris Andersen, Bruce Bowen, and all those guys who put defense and hustle first and prove that games are not all about dunks and points.

–Dirk Nowitzki, Peja Stojakovic, Nene, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Yao Ming and all the international players that prove that the NBA is the world’s game.

–Bill Walton who may love this game too much.

–Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Steve Francis, Jermaine O’Neal, Jason Kidd and all the NBA superstars that drive us to the arenas, TV, radio, and newspapers to see how our favorite players are doing.

–And finally to all out there at their local playgrounds, in their backyards, in the rec centers, and high schools gyms playing basketball no matter what skill level, age, or size and loving every minute of it.
