Gordon questionable after nose surgery
Storrs, CT (Sports Network) – UConn guard Ben Gordon had surgery on his
fractured nose Wednesday, and his status for the Huskies’ game against
Providence on Saturday is unknown.
Gordon suffered the injury during last Wednesday’s game against Georgetown,
but played in the Huskies loss to North Carolina on Saturday. He is averaging
18 points per game and leads 15-2 UConn with 29 steals.
Gordon sustained the injury when he took an elbow to the face from Gerald
Riley in the first half against the Hoyas. He left the floor briefly, but
returned and finished with 11 points in a 94-70 UConn victory.
He did not practice Wednesday and was fitted for a special protective mask.
