Marquette’s Diener day-to-day

=== Marquette’s Diener day-to-day ===

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Travis Diener, Marquette’s leading scorer,
injured his neck and was taken off the court on a stretcher during an 84-76
loss to Charlotte Tuesday.

The junior guard, who is listed as day-to-day, was diagnosed with hyperflexion
after Charlotte’s Calvin Clemmons went for a fake and came down hard on top of
Diener. Diener’s neck appeared to snap back before he fell hard to the floor.

Diener was then tested overnight in Charlotte and released from the hospital
after he was fitted with a neck brace. He was later re-evaluated in Milwaukee
on Wednesday and his status for Saturday’s contest against DePaul is unknown.

Marquette is 11-5 this season and has lost three straight and dropped out of
the rankings on Monday for the first time.
