Badgers’ Wade pleads innocent
Madison, WI (Sports Network) – Wisconsin guard Maurice “Boo” Wade pleaded
innocent Thursday to a charge of battery.
Wade reportedly choked a a 19-year-old woman last week at an off-campus house.
He was ordered by the judge to stay away from the alleged victim.
The Milwaukee native was suspended for two games by the university for
violating the school’s student-athlete discipline policy, but had the penalty
modified Monday night and was permitted to return to the team.
Wade, who averages seven points and 32 minutes per contest, returned to the
lineup Wednesday during a 54-52 win at Iowa. The sophomore guard had four
points in 25 minutes during the victory.
Wade was not present at the Thursday morning hearing, as his attorney entered
the plea for him.
