Miami’s Rice to miss faceoff with UConn
Hartford, CT (Sports Network) – Miami-Florida will be without leading scorer
Darius Rice when it plays Big East rival, eighth-ranked Connecticut, at the
Hartford Civic Center on Wednesday.
Rice, who is averaging 16.7 points per game, sprained his foot in the second
half of the Hurricanes’ 91-74 loss to Syracuse on Saturday. The senior is
expected to miss the next seven to 10 days after getting a cast on his foot.
Rice averaged 35.5 points versus Connecticut last year, including a career-
high, 43-point effort last January when he stole the ball and buried a three
at the buzzer to give Miami a 77-76 upset win.
