New York, NY (Sports Network) – Stanford and Saint Joseph’s remained 1-2 in
the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll. The Cardinal and Hawks are
the only undefeated teams in Division I.

Stanford (23-0) defeated Southern California and UCLA last week, while Saint
Joseph’s (24-0) posted wins over Fordham and Temple.

The Cardinal received 64 first-place votes and 1,791 points from the national
media panel, while the Hawks garnered the final eight No. 1 votes and 1,732

Pittsburgh (24-2) and Gonzaga (23-2) each advanced two places to third and
fourth, respectively. It marks the Panthers’ highest position in the poll
since they were No. 2 for two weeks last season, while the Bulldogs have
earned their best ranking ever. Gonzaga’s only setbacks this season have come
against Stanford and Saint Joseph’s,

Duke (22-3), which snapped a two-game losing streak with a triumph over
Maryland on Sunday, fell from third to fifth and was followed by Oklahoma
State, Mississippi State, Connecticut, Kentucky and Texas.
