Arizona’s Stoudamire sits out Washington game

Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) – Arizona starting point guard and leading scorer
Salim Stoudamire sat out Thursday night’s 89-84 loss to Washington after being
suspended indefinitely for failing to meet team responsibilities.

Stoudamire’s status is still up in the air for the Wildcats’ game versus
Washington State on Saturday.

The junior was told of the suspension on Monday by head coach Lute Olson, but
he did not talk about the move at his Tuesday press conference.

Stoudamire had started the first 24 games this season, and is averaging 16.8
points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 44 percent from
three-point range.

The 14th-ranked Wildcats stand at 17-8 overall and 9-7 in the Pac-10 following
the loss to Washington.
