Spokane, WA (Sports Network) – Blake Stepp finished with 14 points and eight
assists to lead fourth-ranked Gonzaga to an 80-64 win over Santa Clara in
West Coast Conference action at The Kennel.

Ronny Turiaf posted 13 points for the Bulldogs, (25-2, 14-0 WCC), who went
undefeated in the conference for the first time in school history and
extended their school-record winning streak to 18 games.

“We are not done yet,” Stepp said.

Kyle Bankhead added 12 points to help Gonzaga notch its seventh straight
victory in the series.

Doron Perkins and Kyle Bailey each posted 19 points for the Broncos (14-15,
6-8), who lost for the fifth time in six games. Sean Denison added 12 points.

The Bulldogs, who have already captured their fourth-straight regular season
WCC title, took a 22-5 lead to open the game.

Bankhead’s three-pointer 6:39 into the game capped their early flurry. A layup
by Turiaf with 7:33 to go in the half staked them to a 32-14 bulge.

Santa Clara got within 37-26 at halftime.

In the second half, Denison’s basket cut the Broncos’ deficit to 42-31
less than two minutes in.

However, Gonzaga responded with a 17-4 run. Adam Morrison’s basket with 11:17
to play put the team ahead 59-35.

Santa Clara got no closer than 12 points the rest of the way.

“They made a couple of stretch runs and we couldn’t keep up,” said Broncos
head coach Dick Davey.
