Marist coach steps down

Poughkeepsie, NY (Sports Network) – Marist men’s basketball coach Dave
Magarity has given up his coaching duties and accepted a position within the
administration of the department of athletics.

Magarity has been a head coach for 23 seasons, 18 at Marist. His record with
the school is 253-259. He spent his other five seasons as coach of his alma
mater, St. Francis.

“The college is grateful for Dave’s 18 years of service as a coach,” Marist
president Dr. Dennis J. Murray said. “Dave Magarity has always been a class
act and as a college community we are glad to have him still be a part of our
athletics program.”

Magarity led the Red Foxes to the NCAA Tournament in 1987, the NIT in 1996 and
