UCLA’s Ariza to turn pro
Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – UCLA forward Trevor Ariza Tuesday announced
he will forgo his final three seasons of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.
Ariza, 18, who spent just one year with the Bruins, made the Pac-10’s all-
Freshman team last season. He started in 23 of the team’s 25 games and
averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing.
The 6-7 Ariza, who was third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding,
posted a team-best 1.68 steals per game.
Ariza joins swingman Dijon Thompson as the second UCLA underclassman to
declare for the June 24 draft. Thompson led the team last season in scoring
averaging 14.4 points a game.
