Report: Duke’s Deng to become available for NBA Draft
Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) – Duke freshman Luol Deng will make himself
available for the NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent in order to leave open
the option of returning to school, The News & Observer of Raleigh reported
Deng’s father, Aldo, told the newspaper that his son would remain in school
and train at Duke’s facilities throughout the summer in preparation for the
draft, which will be held June 24 in New York City.
The 6-8 Deng averaged 15.1 points and 6.9 rebounds during his rookie campaign.
He garnered MVP honors of the Atlanta Regional, as Duke (31-6) advanced to the
Final Four in San Antonio.
