AND 1 Mix Tape Tour kick off

Fresno, CA – Thursday, June 03, 2004 —

The 2004 AND 1 Mix TapeĀ® Tour kicked off in Fresno tonight with an exciting last-second win for the AND 1 Mix Tape players over the local Fresno squad, 108-107.
Main Event laid in the game-winning shot as time expired to wow the fans and show that the AND1 Mix Tape players are playing to win in every city on this summer’s 30-city tour.

Main Event had 17 points and 5 boards on the night helping the AND1 Mix Tape players come back and win.
AND1 trailed 51-47 at halftime but came back in the second half to turn it up. Go Get It had several sick dunks and Hot Sauce added a few jumpers, including the go-ahead shot at the six-minute mark to put AND1 up 92-90.
From there it was a battle back and forth. Some crucial free throws changed the lead several times as the clock winded down. Fresno was up 107-106 with 7.5 seconds left in the game.

The crowd came to their feet to watch the final seconds as Main Event drove to the net to hit the game-winning bucket and the entire SaveMart Center crowd of nearly 6000 fans went crazy as AND1 pulled out the win, 108-107.

Oakland, CA – Saturday, June 05, 2004 —

The 2004 AND1 Mix TapeĀ® Tour continued tonight in Oakland as the AND1 Mix Tape players cruised to a 103-94 win over the local Oakland squad.
The skillful ball handling of Hot Sauce and Professor and the high-flying dunks of Helicopter proved too much for the local Oakland
squad to handle. The AND1 Mix Tape players continued their search for the next playground legend on this summer’s 30-city tour by selecting a player from Stockton, California to join the tour.

Helicopter put up 25 points and four boards on the night in leading the AND1 Mix Tape players to victory. AND1 jumped out to an early lead and found themselves up 60-50 at the half.

Hot Sauce and Professor proved to be a dangerous guard tandem as they thrilled the crowd by consistently shaking those who attempted to defend them, including a sequence of moves by Hot Sauce with 11:40 left in the second half that caused the crowd to rise to their feet.

After an impressive performance in both the Open Run and Mix Tape Game; the AND1 players continued their search for the next playground legend by selecting Stockton, California native Sante Gayle, a.k.a. “757”, to join them on tour.

He posted 22 points and 8 rebounds while catching several impressive dunks. Gayle was the first player selected this summer for the right to earn an AND1 endorsement contract and be featured on season three of ESPN 2’s Street Ball: The AND1 Mix Tape Tour presented by Mountain Dew Code Red.
