Cincinnati’s Bob Huggins charged with DUI
Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) – University of Cincinnati men’s basketball
coach Bob Huggins was charged with drunk driving after being arrested earlier
Huggins was stopped in Fairfax, a suburb of Cincinnati, after police noticed
that he was driving erratically. After getting pulled over, police say his
speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.
Huggins was taken into custody and later released when his wife arrived to
pick him up.
The 50-year-old Huggins, who is preparing for his 16th season at Cincinnati,
is one of the winningest active coaches in Division I, having compiled a
542-191 record in 23 seasons. He is 374-119 as Cincinnati’s head coach,
including a 25-7 mark last year. Huggins has directed UC to postseason play in
each of his 15 seasons there.
He also coached at Akron for five years before joining Cincinnati and spent
three years at NAIA Walsh College.
