AND 1 MIX TAPE TOUR 2004 – Phoenix

AND 1 MIX TAPE® TEAM GETS BACK ON TRACK WITH WIN IN PHOENIX

AND 1 MIX TAPE TOUR 2004 - Phoenix

- Saturday, June 12, 2004 The 2004 AND 1 Mix Tape® Tour presented by Mountain Dew Code Red continued tonight in Phoenix as the AND 1 team put on the tour’s most entertaining game to date with a 109-97 win over the local Phoenix squad.

The scorching Phoenix temperatures translated into the summer’s hottest game as the AND 1 team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The AND 1 players continued their search for the next playground legend on this summer’s 30-city tour by selecting Phoenix’s Charles Davis a.k.a “Spook” to join this summer’s tour.

Main Event ignited his team to an early lead with an impressive array of jumpers and dunks, hitting for 23 points, 19 of which came in the first half. The most impressive sequence came at five minutes into the second half when newcomer Sante Gayle a.k.a “757″ caught an alley-oop, Helicopter threw down a one- armed dunk and on AND 1′s next possession 50 shut it down by throwing himself an alley-oop off the shot clock. Hometown player Go Get It put on quite a show; throwing down four impressive dunks on his way to 16 points in the game.

The player selected in today’s Open Run did an excellent job of showcasing his skills. Standing 5’7″ and weighing 160 pounds, Davis impressed the AND 1 Mix Tape players and fans with his leaping ability and ball handling skills.
He showed no reservations in going toe-to-toe with both Professor and Hot Sauce and getting the better of them on several occasions.
Davis is the fifth player selected this summer for the right to earn an AND 1 endorsement contract and be featured on season three of ESPN 2′s Street Ball: The AND 1 Mix Tape® Tour presented by Mountain Dew Code Red.
