Newest Longhorn drops out of NBA draft
Austin, TX (Sports Network) – Texas Longhorns signee LaMarcus Aldridge
pulled his name from the eligibility list for the NBA draft Tuesday,
just two days prior to the deadline.
Aldridge, a 7-foot prep school All-American who averaged 28.9 points and 13.4
rebounds as a senior, will spend his freshman year at college playing for Rick
Barnes rather than taking a shot at the pros. A stress fracture in his back
hindered Aldridge’s chances of raising his draft stock.
The highly-touted prospect joins fellow All-Americans Daniel Gibson and Mike
Williams as newcomers on the Texas squad, which made it to the Sweet 16 in
last season’s NCAA Tournament.
