Killingsworth transfers to Indiana

Bloomington, IN (Sports Network) – Indiana University announced Tuesday that
senior forward Marco Killingsworth has transferred from Auburn and will play
for the Hoosiers program.

Killingsworth withdrew from the NBA Draft shortly before the June 17 deadline
and then asked to be released from Auburn, where he spent his first three
collegiate seasons.

Due to NCAA rules, the 6-7 Killingsworth will have to sit out the upcoming
season, but he will have one year of eligibility remaining for the Hoosiers in

“Marco was one of the top players in a very good league (the SEC), so we’re
really happy to have him at Indiana,” head coach Mike Davis said. “Even though
he won’t be eligible to play right away, he will still help us a lot. He will
push and compete in practice, and that will only help our other guys get
better. He has a lot of experience at this level, and that will be a huge
influence on our younger guys. He is a great example of what hard work,
dedication and a passion for the game can do for you.”

Killingsworth was an all-SEC second-team pick last year as he averaged team-
highs with 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He also became just the 10th
player in Tigers’ history to score at least 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds
in his career.
