Villanova’s Fraser to have another surgery

Villanova, PA (Sports Network) – Villanova’s basketball team could be without
forward Jason Fraser for an unknown period of time, as he will undergo
exploratory arthroscopic surgery Friday on his left knee.

Fraser, a junior, experienced swelling in the knee following his participation
in two early season practices. It is not currently known how much time, if
any, he will miss.

This is the second surgery in less than two years for Fraser, who underwent a
procedure to help with tendinitis after the 2002-03 campaign. In addition, he
missed nine of the team’s first 10 contests last season because of a stress
fracture in his left foot.

“We all truly feel for Jason,” said head coach Jay Wright. “We all pray that
this is a simple procedure that allows him to get back to one hundred
percent.”

Villanova will open the 2004-05 slate at home versus UMBC on November 23. The
Big East season commences on January 5 against West Virginia.
