Illinois forward out with broken hand
Champaign, IL (Sports Network) – Illinois forward Brian Randle is expected to
miss 6-to-10 weeks after breaking his hand punching a padded wall.
Randle had surgery Thursday, after the incident occurred during a scrimmage
one day earlier. The 6’7″ sophomore played in 32 games last season. He
averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds.
Randle could decide to take a medical redshirt and sit out the season to
preserve his eligibility.
The fifth-ranked Fighting Illini play an exhibition game Sunday against Lewis.
Illinois opens the regular season November 19 against Delaware State.
