Brown’s top scorer suspended
Providence, RI (Sports Network) – Brown University senior guard Jason Forte
was suspended indefinitely for behavior detrimental to the team.
According to the Providence Journal, Forte was suspended because of his
practice habits and leadership ability.
Forte, the Bears’ leading scorer and only senior on the team, is the reigning
Ivy League Player of the Year.
“This year we need very good leadership from him and it’s a huge
responsibility on his shoulders with the loss of the three seniors from last
season,” said head coach Glen Miller. “We lost three guys who were leaders.
Jason has to fill that role.”
Forte, who averaged 16.8 points per game last season, will likely see his spot
in the starting lineup filled by freshman Damon Huffman.
