Huskies lose Roy for at least a month
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Guard Brandon Roy, the second leading scorer
for the University of Washington, will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his
right knee and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.
Roy sustained a torn ligament in the knee Friday night during the Huskies’
semifinal win in the Great Alaska Shootout. Washington (4-0) went on to
capture the tournament without Roy in a squeaker over Alabama and vaulted up
eight spots to No. 14 in this week’s Top 25 poll.
