DePaul’s Mejia takes leave of absence from team
Rosemont, IL (Sports Network) – DePaul University sophomore guard Sammy
Mejia is taking a leave of absence from the basketball team because of
“Sammy and I have decided that he should step away from basketball and focus
on personal issues,” DePaul head coach Dave Leitao said Thursday in a
statement before the Blue Demons’ game against Rhode Island.
Mejia started in all nine games this season, and is averaging 12.9 points per
